AN INTEGRAL ROLE

The successful launch of Artemis I early this morning from Launch Complex 39B at the Kennedy Space Center was truly spectacular. SLS would like to congratulate our many colleagues and friends at NASA, Jacobs, and other contractors who brought this incredibly challenging engineering endeavor to reality.

SLS is proud to have played an integral role in the design, implementation, and operation of the lightning protection and lightning instrumentation systems that helped keep Artemis I safe during its stay at the pad spanning much of the Summer 2022 lightning season. Fortunately, the weather conditions during this morning’s launch were very favorable with no thunderstorm activity in the area.
